2018 Winners in Focus – Worldwide Fruit

2018 Winners in Focus – Worldwide Fruit

4th September 2019

Top quality fruit supplier, Worldwide Fruit scooped the trophy for Business of the Year at last years South Holland Business Awards.

As we gear up to the 2019 awards, Neal Collishaw, Operations Director at Worldwide Fruit, tells us why they entered the awards: “We decided to enter the awards as we are proud to be part of the South Holland community and are keen to support anything which puts this wonderful part of the world on the map.

“We have such a fantastic story to tell, so many people still see food businesses as the “poor relations” even though the sector has so much to offer, including security of employment throughout times of recession, (people always need to eat!), worldwide travel opportunities, as well as the chance to progress and develop and we are exceptionally proud of that.”

Continuous development, a coaching culture, lean production and progressive growth over the years were just some of the reasons Worldwide Fruit impressed the judges in 2018.

“Winning the award was extremely important to us” said Neal “We’ve advertised our success at every opportunity, with customers, suppliers, potential staff and across the industry. The award has spurred us on to continue with our Continuous Improvement journey, and we are about to embark on the next phase which could result in us eventually going for a Shingo Prize, something very few businesses worldwide have achieved.

Don’t miss your chance to enter the awards, they will remain open until 7th October and you can enter in the following categories:

  • Apprentice of the Year – sponsored by University Academy Holbeach
  • Business Person of the Year – sponsored by South Holland District Council

  • Business Innovation – sponsored by Duncan & Toplis
  • Small Business of the Year – sponsored by Charmed Interiors
